Your best customers, pre-paying every week, on cards that bill themselves. You set the membership price. A small flat fee per membership comes out of it and covers the app, the billing, the hosting and the support. Nothing is added to what your customer pays.
That is it. One flat fee, taken out of the membership, covering the app, member billing, hosting, updates and support.
Those are SoBe Cafe's numbers. You pick your own price, and the $5 comes out of it.
No line items, no add-ons. One fee per membership covers everything it takes to run it.
The fee is set to cover what it genuinely costs to keep your memberships running, not to take a slice of your takings. Here is where it actually goes.
Every card charge carries a bank fee. Stripe's is about 1.7% plus 30c a transaction, and it comes out of our fee, not out of your share.
The biggest sliceThe member app, the sign-up pages and the counter iPad run on servers around the clock, with email and nightly backups.
Always onBuilding it, keeping it secure and improving it. Personal memberships with fair-use limits take real work to keep honest.
Kept up to dateHelping your members with sign-ups and orders, and your team with the iPad, so it never lands on you.
People, not a botThe fee keeps the servers on, the software improving and a real person answering support. Kafemou covers the card processing out of it, so the fee you see is the only thing that comes off a membership. Nothing is charged on your food, your retail or anything else you sell, only on the memberships themselves.
SoBe Cafe in Sandringham was our first cafe. This is exactly how their memberships are set up, and it is the shape we would suggest you start with. The prices are yours to pick.
Every takeaway coffee on the menu, hot in any size and iced in regular, with every syrup, alt milk and decaf swap included. Fair use keeps it honest: up to three coffees a day, at least an hour apart, takeaway only.
Couples join on one membership for $15 more. One payment, two logins, and they each get their own three coffees a day. It is the easiest upsell you have, because the second person costs them less than a takeaway coffee a day.
The fee is per membership, not per person, so a joint covers two people on one fee of $8 and $12 of the $15 upgrade stays with you. SoBe also gives every member two mate's coffees a week, which costs a couple of dollars in milk and beans and brings a new face to your counter who has never heard of you.
Set your own price and drag the slider. This is what lands in your account after the flat fee, billed to members like clockwork every week.
The fee is per membership, taken out of what the member pays, never added on top: $5 on a $25 membership, $6 on $30, $8 on a $40 joint. A joint is one membership with two logins, so it carries one fee between the pair. Card processing is ours, not yours.
They pick your cafe, pop a card on file and get the member app on their phone. Two minutes at the counter, or from a link on the table.
Every week, automatically, through Stripe. No chasing renewals, no "payment due" awkwardness at the till.
Their order lands on your counter iPad with their name. You make it, tap ready, and their phone buzzes to collect. Any size, any day. Membership is personal and fair-use limits keep it honest.
Your share settles straight to your own Stripe account, never through us, and your dashboard shows members, weekly revenue and who is in today.
Nothing up front and nothing monthly. One flat fee per active membership, per week, taken out of what the member pays rather than added on top: $5 on a $25 membership, $6 on $30, $8 on a $40 joint. On SoBe's $25 membership that means $20 lands with the cafe and $5 covers the app, the billing, the hosting and support. It stays $5 whatever you charge, so a dearer membership keeps more with you.
Yes. You decide what a membership is worth at your cafe and you can change it whenever you like. SoBe charges $25 a week and we use that as the example throughout this page, but nothing about it is fixed. The only constant is the flat $5.
Two people join on one membership. At SoBe that is $40 a week instead of $25, one payment, one card, but two separate logins so each person has their own app and their own fair-use allowance of three coffees a day. The fee is per membership, not per person, so a partner plan still carries a single $5 and the whole upgrade stays with you.
No. It runs on the iPad already sitting on your counter. There is nothing to buy and nothing to install beyond opening a web page.
They add a card when they join and it is billed automatically each week through Stripe. No cash to handle, no renewals to chase, no queue at the till to take payment.
No. Membership is personal, every order shows the member's name, and fair-use limits apply, three coffees a day and one an hour. One membership is genuinely one person. Fair for you and fair for the member.
We retry it and email them automatically. If it stays unpaid, their membership simply pauses until they sort it out. You are never left out of pocket for a coffee.
Your share settles to your account on Stripe's normal payout schedule. There is no lock-in. It is your cafe, so you can pause or leave whenever you like.
Six boxes, about a minute. We will come back with what Kafemou would look like on your counter, what it would earn you at your numbers, and how we would run your advertising alongside it.
We have sent a confirmation to your inbox. The Kafemou team will be in touch shortly with the numbers for your cafe. If it is easier to talk now, email [email protected].
We will set your cafe up, walk your team through the iPad in ten minutes, and you can start signing up regulars the same day.
